Robin Thomas

The RTD story begins with a very basic love of the arts and creating… from music studies to art classes, creating quilts and rugs for her own teenage room to one-of-a-kind fashion pieces.

Earning a BFA with studies in Italy and a broad range of artistic interests, Robin’s career path has focused on interior design. With a viewpoint that aesthetically beautiful spaces must align with daily life, the collected story of life and its continual evolution, reflecting the individuality of those living in the home.

An important component of Robin’s design work is in behind-the-scenes product sourcing: the discovery of beautiful new and innovative collections across countless categories of components that make up any interior space. These special sources are at the core of her projects… as their stories and beauty are folded into the interiors, bringing a unique individuality and meaning to clients’ homes.

Robin’s work and travel in sourcing new and creative collections has led to the opening of the Robin Thomas Design Gallery, initially opened in the River North area of Chicago, then expanding in 2022 to Winnetka’s Hubbard Woods Design District with Art For Everyday Living, featuring one-of-a-kind bespoke furnishings designed by Robin and a unique array of artful accessories for the home.

Projects at RTD are both large and small… from full-scale design projects to small strategic updates in existing spaces.
